Protect Marriage - Utah County needs to pass an ordinance in support of Utah's Constitution Amendment 3, to protect marriage by prohibiting the issuance of marriage licenses by Utah County to same gender couples, and making any licenses so issued null and void upon issuance. No judge has the authority to change the U.S. or Utah Constitutions. Only the voice of the people and States can do that. Hundreds of years of judicial precedent uphold the definition of marriage as between a man and a woman. We need to recognize and nullify judicial usurpations, where some judges seek to overturn the will of the people and bypass elected legislative bodies to create new law as unelected judges, by limiting judicial rulings to the single case ruled upon.
Keep Taxes Low - Utah County is a great place to live, in part due to our conservative values and low tax environment. We need to keep taxes low in Utah County as we continue to grow. I oppose higher taxes and fees.
Avoid More Debt - Our fiscally conservative and well managed institutions in Utah have been a beacon to other States through the recent financial crisis. As we move forward, we need to avoid the trap of new and excessive debt! No to new debt.
